Episode 5: Don't Want to Wake Up
Previously on Kensington Way:
-
Debra and Shanna finished their cat fight that had left both Timothy and Bryant
embarassed.
- Bryant's ex-wife Carmen Barrone (who kept her last name), came to visit
Bryant but instead ran into Jamie who wasn't too kind to let her in. Not wanting
to hurt her uncle, she doesn't tell him about Carmen's return.
- After hearing the words "wedding photos" when Dravis is sleep
talking, Tiffany quickly scrambles to look for them. Dravis wakes up to find
out what she's doing but Tiffany covers it up with sex.
- Shanna tries convincing Timothy to get rid of 'Advophone,' the company that
Dravis works for, because it is the lowest selling company at Braving Inc.
Timothy won't do it, but Shanna tells herself that she will.
- Vanessa takes Dravis to Tony's office where Tony asks Dravis to perform
grand theft auto, but Dravis declines and tells him that he's out of the "business"
for good. He wakes up wondering about his dealings with grand theft.
- Debra and Bryant get closer to one another and they are about to make love
until Bryant accidentally on purpose, knocks his head off of Debra's wooden
bed post. He becomes unconcious and is bleeding everywhere.
Scene 1:
(Debra’s bedroom.) (Bryant wakes up to Debra elevating his head. Some of the blood has dried but Debra has cleaned most of it off. It stings a little, but it is too painful for Bryant to feel it.) Debra: Are you awake?
Yes.
You had quite a fall.
I- I don’t know what happened. Maybe I haven’t fully recovered from the car accident, but like I've told you before...it happens all the time.
Do you think that we could maybe continue what we were going to start?
No. It should be best if I just go.
Are you sure that you’re able? You’re more then welcome to stay here.
That’s sweet of you, but maybe another night would be better. For the both of us.
Debra: This kind of puts a damper on such a wonderful night. Literally. I haven’t seen a good time like that ever since- Ever since I was last with Timothy. You have helped me a lot through that. I’m just hoping that possibly you and I could be more than just good friends. (Bryant takes her hand and kisses it.) Bryant: Whatever the future holds, we’ll just have to wait until then. Good night. (Bryant turns around and opens the bed room door. He shuts it in front of him and smiles at her. Once Debra is out of sight Bryant begins to walk away from the house in a fast pace until he gets outside. He gets on his cell phone and calls Shanna’s cell. He gets her answering machine and waits for the beep.) Bryant: I took a fall for the both of us tonight but I’m the one who gets hurt physically! You owe me big. (Debra is even more alone in her bedroom, after Bryant is gone.) Debra: That’s someone again who doesn’t want me! (Debra slowly stands up and goes over to her night stand. She opens a drawer to find a professional picture taken of Timothy and her.) Debra: Damn you! Damn you Shanna. You ruined our marriage! Timothy. You can just go to hell! (Tears begin to form in her eyes. Without thinking, Debra forcefully throws the picture across the room, the glass in it breaks against the wall. Debra falls down on the bed and begins to cry.) Debra: What did I do? (screaming) WHAT DID I DO?
(The next morning. A clear sunny day, on the street where Dravis lives.)
Jamie: Are you two by chance busy?
We’re too busy to talk to you. Good bye.
Sort of. We both have to get to work. Can I help with you anything?
Actually Tiffany I wanted to appologize for the way I acted the other day. I didn’t want to get off on the wrong foot with you, but obviously that’s what happened.
I’m sorry too.
That was very big of both of you.
Jamie: Dravis, Tiffany, this is Carmen Ludiarez. My-
Her step aunt. Very nice to meet you both.
Step mother? I never knew that Bryant was married.
We’re divorced.
It’s very nice meeting you but we have to get going.
Don’t let us stop you.
Jamie: Are you following me?
Maybe.
Why?
Because. I want to be your friend. Hopefully you want that, right? Jamie: Yes and no.
Just as long as your uncle doesn’t know that I’m here, you and I can hang out as much as possible.
Carmen: Is there a problem?
Are you seriously that stupid? Yes there is a problem. You’re asking me to keep a secret from my uncle. If you’re going to be a permanent fixture in my life and in this town, then I strongly advise that you show yourself to him.
Like I told you before I want to surprise him.
Whatever. In my opinion, you’re up to something. I don’t know what it is but whatever it is, I’m sure it’s not good at all.
(sarcastic) Don’t think too highly of me.
Believe me. I don’t.
Jamie: You would be aloud to come in, but you would probably just vanish into thin air.
In speaking of love and relationships. It’s a shame that your neighbor friend has a wife. Clearly you have the hots for him. Not saying that there’s nothing wrong with that, but you can end up getting very hurt.
Listen to you. What would you like for me to do?
If you’re not going to make your moves on him then I will.
Carmen: Did that make you feel good?
That trashy tramp talk deserved it. And what you did to me just fueled it. It makes me wish that I could do more, but you’re not worth it.
---- Scene 3: (Shanna’s apartment)
Bryant: Did you get my message?
Yes I did. Look at your face. What happened last night?
Debra wanted to sleep with me.
That’s great. She must have been rough and tough with you.
No. Nothing happened.
Nothing happened? Please say that you went through with it.
I purposely banged my head off of her bed stand. Came to and then left.
Damn it. That wasn’t apart of the plan.
Look the reason why I didn’t go through with it was because I might have spilled everything. You could pay me as much as you want and I still wouldn’t have slept with her! Besides...you owe me.
Well, we have something even better to celebrate.
Like what?
Like the eviction of Advophone! --- Scene 4: (Advophone)
Dravis: What the-?
Dravis: Georgetta, what the hell is going on?
Mister Heidel, you didn’t hear about the news?
No. I didn’t. What is going on?
There was a memo on my desk about how Advophone’s sales were going down the gutter and we were all going to be evicted as of today. Not that I’m worried though, numerous job offers have come up for me.
Advophone’s sales were doing sub par! This is absurd.
Georgetta: The memo said that Timothy Braving was the one who approved it all. Well, it was very nice working with you Mister Heidel. Good bye.
Dravis: Everything that I have ever worked for. I built this company from scratch, and this...this is what it has come to.
Tim: Dravis I just found out about what happened.
Of course you did. You were the one who made it happen and if I find you, I swear-
No I didn’t. Do you really think that I would do that to you?
I want answers Tim!
And you’ll get them. I’m driving towards the office and we’ll get to the bottom of this.
You better have nothing to do with this.
---- Scene 5: (Debra’s livingroom)
Debra: My night with Bryant went extremely well and when I say extremely well, I mean every disastrous thing that could happen, did.
That good huh?
Oh yeah. Like me getting a little bit drunk and having a confrontation with Timothy and Shanna.
They were there too?
It’s such a big town, how ironic for them to show up. Basically I exchanged a few words with the both of them and some words turned into some slaps and hair pulling.
Good for you. She deserved it.
Yeah but then at the end of the night when Bryant and I were going to seal the deal he...
He what?
Somehow he had a dizzy spell and hit his head off of the bed post. After nursing him, we decided to call it a night.
I’m sorry to hear that.
What about you? How’s your marriage with Dravis?
There’s two stories that I can tell you. The fake one or the real one.
How about both.
The fake story is that we’re doing great and that we have no problems at all.
And the real story?
He keeps talking in his sleep about the strangest things and I’m thinking about having him committed.
Oh. I’m sorry to hear that.
Debra: Here’s to bad relationships that can hopefully get better.
Hopefully.
Scene 6: (Timothy’s Office)
Tim: What exactly did Georgetta tell you?
She said that she received a memo that we were going to be evicted today.
This...this was not supposed to happen.
Then why did it happen?
Everything must be approved by me and only me. There was no such thing as memo leading to Advophone’s eviction. (Dravis walks over to Shanna’s desk) Dravis: Maybe your secretary knew something about it.
Maybe.
Dravis: What might this be?
It’s marked personal and confidential.
This is the most recent file she has, this probably could shed some sort of light.
Since I own this company, I have every right to know what is in here.
Timothy: (reading) Sales of "Advophone" have dropped severely and it seems as if the workers them selves have given up on it. The business is dead weight to Braving Incorporations and it must be evicted as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding. Signed, Timothy Braving.
Did you or did you not sign that?
This is the first I’ve ever seen this piece of paper in my life. I would never ever do that you.
That little bitch. Was she concerned with Advophone?
Yes she was. She was trying to convince me to get rid of it, but I had faith that you could restore it.
Damn it!
Don’t worry about it. I’ll have your office space retrieved and Shanna will be fired asap.
Scene 7: (Shanna’s bedroom.)
Bryant: There’s just something so sexy about you that attracts me to you more and more. You’re the one that I want to sleep with, not Debra.
Yep. You and her husband.
Aren’t you worried about Tim finding out that you forged his name on the release form? Not only that but you also forged his name on his divorce papers.
If he found out then I would be fired, but not if I black mail him.
How?
I’m a woman. It’s not that easy to make up a lie about how I was forced into sleeping with him. How he came on to me but I said no at first.
Nice story. It would probably work.
Not probably, defenitely. That’s only if he does find out. Poor Dravis. Not that I care about the nutjob, but- Wait a minute, I don’t care. I’m going to own Braving Incorporations and it’ll be Schoolor Inc.
Bryant: There’s something else that I want to tell you.
Yeah?
You mean the world to me. All of this plotting and scheming, I did it all for you. No woman would ever have that sort of effect on me. I love you Shanna.
We make a great team but surely enough love can not come between our good team work.
What?
It’s sweet that you think like that but-
But what? I’ve risked my life for you numerous times.
How far would you go for me?
Pretty far.
Maybe even murder?
Scene 8: (Pitch black)
Dravis: You again.
You can’t escape me daddy. Dravis: What kind of adventures are we going to get into this time? Hopefully you’ll run away like the last time.
Temper, temper.
Vanessa: Uncle Tony!
Tony: You are getting prettier by the miniute.
Are you going to tell me that you’re my brother or something.
I have to talk to your dad for a second.
Sure thing.
Dravis: We have nothing to talk about.
Yes we do.
This... I don’t even know what kind of world we’re in!
You’re in a world where there is no exit, so hopefully I can change your mind about leaving.
Tony, I already told you before. I want out. That life is no good.
You can leave, only on one exception.
No exceptions! Good bye.
Tony: You want out so bad then you’re going to have to fight your way out.
Dravis: I’m gone Tony. I’m gone.
Damn right you are. You’re going to die!
Dravis: Like I said...I’m done.
Tony: Find the...find the...truth.
---- Scene 9: (Dravis’s bedroom)
Dravis: (screaming) NOOOOO!!!
Dravis: What is this? Tiffany? Are you here?
Dravis: What’s going on?
Reporter: Top breaking story but a violent murder happened last night in Kensington Way. The police are investigating it as we speak. In other-
Dravis: No. It’s not my dream.
Dravis: Who died? |
On the next episode of Kensington Way:
You won't believe who dies!
