Scene
1:
(Giovanni’s, an elegant Italian Restaurant)
Tim: You really don’t know when to quit do you? Leave!
We were here first, so maybe you two should be the one to leave!
Listen to me-
Stop it you two. This fight is between me and Shammu!
Finally, you’re giving in to how you truly feel.
Shanna: I have something that you will never get back! Your husband.
Shanna: You bitch!
Shanna: Is this what you wanted?
I want more from you...you slut!
Timothy: Time to go. Bryant:
Manager: You two are acting like children and I’m going to have to ask you all to leave, right this instance, or I will be forced to call the police.
This was all a misunderstanding.
Yeah like your marriage.
Let’s go Timothy, we're leaving!
Debra: What a night! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 2: (Bryant Barrone’s house)
It’s- It’s you!
Carmen: Surprised to see me?
Never would have figured that in a million years you would ever come back to see him or I again. Bryant is the reason why you are here right?
May I come in?
Please do.
So why are you here?
I heard about your uncle’s accident.
There were no news crews, no paparazzi news reporters. How did you find out about it?
Before you go off on one of your little rampages, just listen to me. He called and told me all about it. It worried me and I wanted to see him.
You're lying. You hurt Bryant way too much to have him still keep in contact with you. Besides he’s not here.
Fine then I came to talk to you too.
Whenever you left my uncle, you left me as well. After my parents died, you and Uncle Bryant were the only things that were closer to me then my own parents.
There was nothing left in our marriage. He wanted to have children but I couldn’t. The only thing that I asked to have from him was to just love me, but no, he was so wrapped up in his work that it meant more to him then I did. Whenever he wasn’t around I grew close to you because I knew that we could have that real mother, daughter relationship. You were closer to me then any child I could have ever had.
Then you shouldn’t have left. He tried so hard to find you, and when he couldn’t, he just gave up and moved here. That was over two years ago. Now he has me, a steady job, and maybe even a new love interest.
It’s good that he has all of those things. The only thing that I still have from him is his last name.
You kept Barrone as your last name? Why didn’t you change it back to whatever it was. Lopina, Lopez, or whatever it was.
Luadierez. (more serious) There was no time to get a divorce, but I went somewhere where even he couldn’t find me.
Is your marriage at least annauled or what? Carmen: Jamie: Where are you staying, if that is something your planning on doing.
At the Kensington Way Plaza.
I don’t want to ruin the surprise but this is for the both of you, and when you see him, please tell him that I stopped by and I’ll try to find him when he’s around. Good bye Jamie.
A good bye was something that even you couldn’t tell us!
Should I tell him that she’s back? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 3: (Dravis’s bedroom) (Later that night, Dravis is already sound a sleep in his own dream land, as Tiffany begins to look at him while sitting next to him on their bed. With a pencil and a pad of paper in her hand, she watches him and begins to take notes. All she has written down so far is the date and time, but nothing is going on.)
This is useless.
Are you okay Dravis?
I’ll take that as a yes and my little project is even more useless.
Wedding.
What wedding?
Wedding photos. Our wedding photos.
Oh no.
There’s no way. There’s no way in hell that he knows anything about them.
Oops. (Dravis turns on the light, and knowing that he is awake and maybe caught, Tiffany freezes where she is.)
Tiffany, what are you doing? What’s going on? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 4: (Bryant’s House)
Welcome home.
What are you doing up? It’s late.
It’s only one in the morning.
Don’t you have classes tomorrow?
Yep, but not until two in the afternoon, so I will get to sleep in.
What are you studying?
Astronomy.
Never took it.
I wouldn’t, expect a student in law school to know something about the stars.
Being a lawyer isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. The pay is great but you get a horrible reputation and long hours.
It must be hard to hold down a relationship with that kind of job.
If you’re referring to my ex-wife, yes it was.
I’m sorry. You forgot to tell me how your date with Miss Braving went.
It went well, sort of exciting, but-
So you like her?
Maybe. Aside from that small little accident, life is going good for me, and that’s really all that matters. Good night Jamie.
Uncle Bryant wait!
Yes?
Please tell him that I was here.
Never mind.
Don’t stay up too late.
Jamie: If life is going good for you, then I can’t let Carmen screw it up! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 5: (Dravis’s bedroom)
What was that noise?
Oh nothing. I didn’t mean to wake you up. I was just looking for a certain pair of shoes that I’m going to wear to work tomorrow. Just go back to bed.
If you come back to bed with me I will.
Is that a little hint?
Maybe just a little.
Dravis- I have work tomorrow.
Then you’ll sleep even better.
We won’t be needing those.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 6: (Timothy’s Office) (The next morning at Timothy’s office, Shanna walks in wearing a tight black business suit with her hair pull backed in a bun. She notices that Tim is wearing a dark blue suit as well.)
Good morning.
Good morning.
About the other night-
Don’t worry about it. It was fun. Getting into a cat fight with your ex-wife wasn’t what I planned but I stood up for you, so I’m happy.
Just forget about it.
You’re right. On to more serious notes I got the rates of all of the building’s income rate. Vancell was number one and take a wild guess at what was at the bottom of the list.
Please tell me.
Advophone.
Advophone? I thought that they were on the top ten.
They were, but that was a few months ago, they have lost a lot of money. Five months ago they were at number seven but now they are at number twenty.
How?
If you want me to talk to-
No. Whatever it is, I’ll find out from Dravis.
It’s good to talk to the owner. Maybe you should consider terminating them.
I could never do that to Dravis!
Just a thought.
You won’t but I will! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 7: (Pitch black)
You know why we are here daddy?
No.
We’re here to see Uncle Tony.
Uncle Tony? I don’t have a brother named Tony!
You’re good friend Tony. The one you work with.
Oh of course, that Uncle Tony.
That was a fun little scuffle we got into.
You were askin for it.
Yeah but I didn’t want to rough you up too bad.
Get away and let the grown ups talk.
Who are you talking to?
Some crazy little girl who follows me around everywhere and claims that I’m her daddy, but I tell her it’s not true.
Oh. There’s nothing there.
But-
I need for you to do something for me, something very important!
Like what?
Grand Theft.
Grand theft? I don’t think so. Look I want a normal job, with normal pay, and normal people!
Where are you going?
I’m leaving, for good! I’m out! Finito! Finnished!
I got the point, but you can’t leave!
Don’t go daddy!
Just watch me!
Grand theft? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scene 8: (The Braving Household)
How have you been feeling lately?
Really dizzy but I’m not worried because I’m fine.
If you ever want an examination done, please feel free to ask me anytime.
How about right now?
Would you like for me to examine your lips?
Debra: They seem fine to me.
Good.
Would you like to take your examination further?
I-I would love to.
Then follow me.
You’re wonderful to me in every way possible.
That's how I feel about you too.
Bryant, what’s wrong?
I- I’m-
