Episode 4: A Dizzy of a Doozy

Previously on Kensington Way:

- Debra destroyed the divorce papers and told Tim to leave. She was devastated and realized that there may be no way to save her marriage.

- Tiffany and Jamie met for the first time but things went sour when they were vieing for Dravis's affection. Before Jamie left, Dravis and her shared an awkward moment, that was witnessed by Tiffany.

- Shanna forced Bryant to warm up to Debra and take her out to Giovanni's (where Shanna will be with Tim.) When they do go, Debra becomes gutsy and confronts Shanna. She throws a drink on her and tells her to bring it on!

Scene 1:
(Giovanni’s, an elegant Italian Restaurant)

(Debra, being a little drunk, looks at Shanna with devilish and serious eyes. Shanna begins to clean herself up, as she is upset at the ugly scene that Debra has just made. Timothy begins to help Shanna clean up her dress, and looks at Debra.)

Tim:

You really don’t know when to quit do you? Leave!

Bryant:

We were here first, so maybe you two should be the one to leave!

Tim: (to Bryant)

Listen to me-

Shanna:

Stop it you two. This fight is between me and Shammu!

Debra:

Finally, you’re giving in to how you truly feel.

(Shanna stands up and faces Debra.)

Shanna:

I have something that you will never get back! Your husband.

(Debra smacks Shanna right across the face. Shanna is sort of taken back at what had just happened as she puts her hand on her stinging cheek.)

Shanna:

You bitch!

(Shanna grabs on to Debra’s hair and begins to pull it, forcing Debra’s whole body to be yanked back and forth.)

Shanna:

Is this what you wanted?

Debra:

I want more from you...you slut!

(While Shanna is still tugging on her hair, Debra gets the strength to push Shanna, as the two fall over the table and continue to go at it, but this time they are strangling each other.)

Timothy:

Time to go.

Bryant:
(to Timothy)
I don't agree with husbands who cheat but for once I agree with you on that one.

(Timothy gets a hold of Debra and Bryant takes Shanna off of each other. The two girls begin to brush themselves off. The manager comes to the scene.)

Manager:

You two are acting like children and I’m going to have to ask you all to leave, right this instance, or I will be forced to call the police.

Timothy:

This was all a misunderstanding.

Bryant:

Yeah like your marriage.

Shanna:

Let’s go Timothy, we're leaving!

(Timothy doesn’t put any money down because they did not order anything, so the two storm out of the restaurant with embarrassment. After they leave the manger begins to clean up everything and by the look on his face, is not happy.)

Debra:

What a night!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 2:

(Bryant Barrone’s house)

(A few days later, Jamie sits on the living room couch. She is doing homework for a French class that she has. All of a sudden the door bell rings. Jamie puts her things down, and goes over to the door. She hopes that it is Dravis coming by, so with a smile on her face, she opens it.)

Jamie:

It’s- It’s you!

(Although it’s not Dravis, it’s an older lady, about in her mid-thirties. The woman had all of the Spanish qualities down. She was tan, slender, and had dark black shinny hair. Her name is Carmen and her last name is too complicated to explain.)

Carmen:

Surprised to see me?

Jamie:

Never would have figured that in a million years you would ever come back to see him or I again. Bryant is the reason why you are here right?

Carmen:

May I come in?

Jamie:

Please do.

(Carmen comes in, and since the weather has been nice and sunny, has no jacket to give her. She puts down her purse and looks at Jamie, who seems confused to why she was standing in front of her.)

Jamie:

So why are you here?

Carmen:

I heard about your uncle’s accident.

Jamie:

There were no news crews, no paparazzi news reporters. How did you find out about it?

Carmen:

Before you go off on one of your little rampages, just listen to me. He called and told me all about it. It worried me and I wanted to see him.

Jamie:

You're lying. You hurt Bryant way too much to have him still keep in contact with you. Besides he’s not here.

Carmen:

Fine then I came to talk to you too.

Jamie:

Whenever you left my uncle, you left me as well. After my parents died, you and Uncle Bryant were the only things that were closer to me then my own parents.

Carmen:

There was nothing left in our marriage. He wanted to have children but I couldn’t. The only thing that I asked to have from him was to just love me, but no, he was so wrapped up in his work that it meant more to him then I did. Whenever he wasn’t around I grew close to you because I knew that we could have that real mother, daughter relationship. You were closer to me then any child I could have ever had.

Jamie:

Then you shouldn’t have left. He tried so hard to find you, and when he couldn’t, he just gave up and moved here. That was over two years ago. Now he has me, a steady job, and maybe even a new love interest.

Carmen:

It’s good that he has all of those things. The only thing that I still have from him is his last name.

Jamie:

You kept Barrone as your last name? Why didn’t you change it back to whatever it was. Lopina, Lopez, or whatever it was.

Carmen: (correcting her)

Luadierez.

(more serious)

There was no time to get a divorce, but I went somewhere where even he couldn’t find me.

Jamie:

Is your marriage at least annauled or what?

Carmen:
Annauled, divorced. Basically it's over.

Jamie:

Where are you staying, if that is something your planning on doing.

Carmen:

At the Kensington Way Plaza.

(Carmen goes through her purse and hands her a tiny leather box. Jamie takes it.)

Carmen:

I don’t want to ruin the surprise but this is for the both of you, and when you see him, please tell him that I stopped by and I’ll try to find him when he’s around. Good bye Jamie.

(Carmen goes in for a hug but Jamie declines.)

Jamie:

A good bye was something that even you couldn’t tell us!

(Carmen exits.)

Jamie:

Should I tell him that she’s back?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 3:

(Dravis’s bedroom)

(Later that night, Dravis is already sound a sleep in his own dream land, as Tiffany begins to look at him while sitting next to him on their bed. With a pencil and a pad of paper in her hand, she watches him and begins to take notes. All she has written down so far is the date and time, but nothing is going on.)

Tiffany:

This is useless.

(Tiffany slides her notes underneath the bed and decides to try and go to sleep. Right before her head hits the fluffy pillow, Dravis begins to mumble.)

Tiffany: (whispering)

Are you okay Dravis?

(Dravis doesn’t answer her but continues to mumble.)

Tiffany:

I’ll take that as a yes and my little project is even more useless.

(Tiffany put her head down again.)

Dravis:

Wedding.

Tiffany:

What wedding?

Dravis:

Wedding photos. Our wedding photos.

(Tiffany stands up with terror.)

Tiffany:

Oh no.

(Tiffany quickly gets out of bed and tiptoes her way over to her closet.)

Tiffany:

There’s no way. There’s no way in hell that he knows anything about them.

(Tiffany begins to go through things in her closet until she drops something and crashes on to the floor.)

Tiffany:

Oops.

(Dravis turns on the light, and knowing that he is awake and maybe caught, Tiffany freezes where she is.)

Dravis:

Tiffany, what are you doing? What’s going on?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 4:

(Bryant’s House)

(Bryant walks in to his dark house. Dressed in a business suit, he begins to undo his tie, as he walks past his living room. A small light in the study draws Bryant to it. He turns on the ceiling light to find Jamie studying.)

Jamie:

Welcome home.

Bryant:

What are you doing up? It’s late.

Jamie:

It’s only one in the morning.

Bryant:

Don’t you have classes tomorrow?

Jamie:

Yep, but not until two in the afternoon, so I will get to sleep in.

Bryant:

What are you studying?

Jamie:

Astronomy.

Bryant:

Never took it.

Jamie:

I wouldn’t, expect a student in law school to know something about the stars.

Bryant:

Being a lawyer isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. The pay is great but you get a horrible reputation and long hours.

Jamie:

It must be hard to hold down a relationship with that kind of job.

Bryant:

If you’re referring to my ex-wife, yes it was.

Jamie:

I’m sorry. You forgot to tell me how your date with Miss Braving went.

Bryant:

It went well, sort of exciting, but-

Jamie:

So you like her?

Bryant:

Maybe. Aside from that small little accident, life is going good for me, and that’s really all that matters. Good night Jamie.

(Bryant almost turns off the lights and walk away until Jamie stops him.)

Jamie:

Uncle Bryant wait!

Bryant:

Yes?

(Jamie begins to have a flashback of what Carmen told her.)

Carmen:

Please tell him that I was here.

(The phrase sort of echoes in Jamie’s mind.)

Jamie:

Never mind.

Bryant:

Don’t stay up too late.

(Bryant turns off the lights and exits.)

Jamie:

If life is going good for you, then I can’t let Carmen screw it up!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 5:

(Dravis’s bedroom)

(Tiffany backs up out of the closet and turns to face Dravis.)

Dravis:

What was that noise?

Tiffany:

Oh nothing. I didn’t mean to wake you up. I was just looking for a certain pair of shoes that I’m going to wear to work tomorrow. Just go back to bed.

Dravis:

If you come back to bed with me I will.

Tiffany:

Is that a little hint?

Dravis:

Maybe just a little.

Tiffany:

Dravis- I have work tomorrow.

Dravis:

Then you’ll sleep even better.

(Tiffany walks her way over to the bed and throws the covers off of the bed.)

Tiffany:

We won’t be needing those.

(Tiffany and Dravis begin to fiercely kiss each other. The kissing leads to heavy breathing. Tiffany rips off Dravis’s white undershirt as he flips her around and begins to kiss her neck. Then he unbuttons her flannel pajama top and kisses the center of her chest. The two continue to kiss each other. Dravis turns off the lights as the two continue to get even more passionate with each other.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 6:

(Timothy’s Office)

(The next morning at Timothy’s office, Shanna walks in wearing a tight black business suit with her hair pull backed in a bun. She notices that Tim is wearing a dark blue suit as well.)

Tim:

Good morning.

Shanna:

Good morning.

Tim:

About the other night-

Shanna:

Don’t worry about it. It was fun. Getting into a cat fight with your ex-wife wasn’t what I planned but I stood up for you, so I’m happy.

Tim:

Just forget about it.

Shanna:

You’re right. On to more serious notes I got the rates of all of the building’s income rate. Vancell was number one and take a wild guess at what was at the bottom of the list.

Tim:

Please tell me.

Shanna:

Advophone.

Timothy:

Advophone? I thought that they were on the top ten.

Shanna:

They were, but that was a few months ago, they have lost a lot of money. Five months ago they were at number seven but now they are at number twenty.

Timothy:

How?

Shanna:

If you want me to talk to-

Timothy:

No. Whatever it is, I’ll find out from Dravis.

Shanna:

It’s good to talk to the owner. Maybe you should consider terminating them.

Timothy:

I could never do that to Dravis!

Shanna:

Just a thought.

(Shanna exits Timothy’s office and shuts the door behind him.)

Shanna:

You won’t but I will!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 7:

(Pitch black)

(Dravis begins to walk blindly to an office that becomes dimly lit. There are two chairs that are in front of a desk. He sits down in the left one, a little comfortable, when he looks down to the chair next of him, Vanessa appears. She looks at him and he looks forward.)

Vanessa:

You know why we are here daddy?

Dravis:

No.

Vanessa:

We’re here to see Uncle Tony.

Dravis:

Uncle Tony? I don’t have a brother named Tony!

(Vanessa begins to giggle as she always does.)

Vanessa:

You’re good friend Tony. The one you work with.

(Dravis looks at her.)

Dravis:

Oh of course, that Uncle Tony.

(The lights get turned on and behind the desk is Tony Viscanni.)

Tony:

That was a fun little scuffle we got into.

Dravis:

You were askin for it.

Tony:

Yeah but I didn’t want to rough you up too bad.

(Dravis notices that Vanessa is still there.)

Dravis:

Get away and let the grown ups talk.

Tony:

Who are you talking to?

Dravis:

Some crazy little girl who follows me around everywhere and claims that I’m her daddy, but I tell her it’s not true.

Tony:

Oh. There’s nothing there.

Dravis:

But-

Tony:

I need for you to do something for me, something very important!

Dravis:

Like what?

Tony:

Grand Theft.

Dravis:

Grand theft? I don’t think so. Look I want a normal job, with normal pay, and normal people!

(Dravis stands up and begins to leave.)

Tony:

Where are you going?

Dravis:

I’m leaving, for good! I’m out! Finito! Finnished!

Tony:

I got the point, but you can’t leave!

Vanessa:

Don’t go daddy!

Dravis (to both of them):

Just watch me!

(Dravis leaves and slams the door behind him but then opens his eyes to find Tiffany holding on to him.)

Dravis:

Grand theft?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 8:

(The Braving Household)

(Later that night, Debra and Bryant have a drink together in Debra’s living room.)

Debra:

How have you been feeling lately?

Bryant:

Really dizzy but I’m not worried because I’m fine.

Debra:

If you ever want an examination done, please feel free to ask me anytime.

Bryant:

How about right now?

Debra:

Would you like for me to examine your lips?

(Bryant, getting up all of his bravery to do so, leans in and softly kisses Debra.)

Debra:

They seem fine to me.

Bryant:

Good.

Debra:

Would you like to take your examination further?

Bryant:

I-I would love to.

Debra:

Then follow me.

(Debra takes his hand and leads him up to her bed room.)

Debra:

You’re wonderful to me in every way possible.

Bryant:

That's how I feel about you too.

(Bryant’s eyes begin to squint in and out as he begins to step backwards.)

Debra:

Bryant, what’s wrong?

Bryant:

I- I’m-

(Bryant falls forward and slams his head off of the wooden bed post. Blood begins to ooze out everywhere.)

On the next episode of Kensington Way:
