Episode 2: A Not So Perfect Marriage
Previously
on Kensington Way:
The residents were introduced and among them there was Dravis Heidel who keeps
having dreams of a little girl named Vannessa that claims to be his daughter,
while his wife tries keeping him sane. The one thing Tiffany doesn't know
is that Dravis can not even remember his own wedding day.
Across the street are the Bravings but just Debra occupies the house because, after catching her husband with his secretary, she kicked Timothy out of the house.
Shanna Schoolor is Tim's secretary and plotted with her partner in crime Bryant on how to break up the Bravings for good.
Bryant's niece Jamie Wyze is a freshman in college who has just developed a crush on Dravis.
An out of control car had Dravis trying to save the lives of Debra and Tiffany when it sped out of control and crashed into Debra's yard.
Scene
1:
Dravis: (shouting) Is everyone all right?
I'm fine.
A little pissed but fine! (Tiffany and Debra brushed themselves off after standing up and went over to the car door to look inside, it was very hard to see because of the tinted windows.) Dravis: Do you know this car?
No I don't know anyone with this kind of car. I'm calling the police. (Debra begins to walk towards the front door until she sees Dravis knocking on the window of the car.) Tiffany: Honey what are you doing?
I want to know who did this. They might be drunk, passed out, or even dead. (Dravis continues to knock on the window of the car. After his third knock, the car door opens. Slowly Bryant Barrone came rolling out of his car and fell to the ground. His head had a slight bleeding gash.) ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 2: (The Kensington Plaza, room number 617) (Timothy sits alone eating his room serviced dinner. No candle light but just a dim darkness of sorrow. A sorrow that he knew could only be fixed by working things out with Debra. Suddenly there is a knock on his door.) Tim: (to himself) Debra?
Tim: How did you know my hotel room number?
I asked the bell hop and he told me. Are you saying that you would not have told me if I asked you?
Now you're putting words in my mouth.
Speaking of putting things in...
You have a sick mind.
I was only talking about putting me into your room.
Please come in. (Shanna walks in and begins to survey the room. She looks a little impressed as Timothy shuts the door behind him.) Tim: Why are you here? It's Saturday evening and you don't have to be at work until Monday. (Shanna makes her way over to the table where Timothy's dinner was. She took his fork and began to pick at it.) Shanna: Dinner for one? That is such a shame. An attractive and enticing man like your self should not be eating alone.
You are absolutely right. I should be eating with my wife.
She's not here so why don't you eat with me?
I am not all that hungry.
I'm hungry but for something else. (Shanna grabs his hand and Timothy does not pull away. She can tell that he is still a little bit nervous and tense.) Shanna: You don't have to be so scared of me. Debra isn't here and I am sure that she will not be coming.
Don't even bring her name up! (Shanna hands the belt tie of her black trench coat to Timothy and he looks at her puzzled.) Tim: What is this?
You should give it a little tug and pull. I guarantee you will like it. (Timothy sees where she is getting at. He obeys her and pulls the belt tie. The trench coat falls down from her knees to the balls of her feet. She is wearing nothing at all.) Tim: I thought that only flashers wore those kinds of coats. Is that what you truly are? (Shanna fiercely begins to kiss Timothy as the two begin to breath heavier.) Shanna: I told you that you would not be disappointed. Christmas is coming early for you! ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 3: (Jamie's car) (Jamie drives alone in her car, with the CD player blasting out country music. Country was not the only kind of music she listened to but it was mostly what was on the mixed CD that she had in at the moment.) Jamie: I think that I could have bought out the whole mall if I had the money and the time to. (There are bags of gifts in her back seat from all kinds of stores. All of her shopping was done, which made her very relieved. Jamie pulls up to a red light and looks to the side of her window. She sees a daughter and a mother waiting for a bus.) Jamie: How picture perfect. (She really hoped that the light would change so that she could go back to her uncle's house and not so feel bad about losing her parents the way that she did. She begins to have a flash back of when she found out about the incident. Everything comes picture perfect to her when she thinks of the day her parents died. How her closest uncle had to explain to her that Evie and Damien Wyze's plane went down in Australia and there was no way they could or would be coming home. A tear began to form in her eyes as the light turned green, she began to speed back to her uncle's home. She remembered that she was very close.) Jamie: Happy holidays to me. (Jamie begins to slow down when she gets on her uncle's street and notices a banged up looking BMW in the yard of Dravis's neighbors.) Jamie: Looks like somebody didn't know where the drive way was. (Jamie pulls into her uncle's drive way and notices Dravis. She walks over towards the big scene and that is when she saw Bryant. She froze with horror as she saw Dravis huddled over Bryant and he was shaking back and forth. It was like watching an EMT help out an injured sports player. Jamie goes over to her uncle's side.) Jamie: (to Dravis) What happened? Dravis: He was driving crazy and then all of a sudden he crashed. Jamie: (shivering with fear as she looks at her uncle) That was my car! I borrowed his car and he was using my car! Uncle Bryant. Uncle Bryant please be okay! ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 4: (Hotel bath room) (A bubble bath has been drawn up for the two soon to be passionate lovers. It is dark but romantically lit up by red waxed candles. Timothy and Shanna lie in it together Timothy has his back to the cold plastered wall and Shanna has her back to him. He begins to enjoy it and kiss her shoulders.) Tim: This was a very good idea.
I am glad that I thought of it. You seemed so tense and you needed to be relaxed. T here are other ways of relaxing and I'm sure that by the end of the night you will have all your stress relieved. (Timothy begins to ignore Shanna and think of how wrong it is that they are still seeing each other. He only split up from Debra. Technically they are still married.) Shanna: Earth to Tim.
What? How did you know that I wasn't paying attention.
You stopped kissing my sholders. I love it when you do that.
I can't do it all the time you know?
I want you to answer me something.
Anything.
Were you thinking of her?
Just shut up and make love to me. ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 5: (The Bravings front yard) (Dravis holds Jamie as she begins to not only shiver from the cold weather but also from the fact of realizing that her uncle could be a goner like her parents.) Debra: I used to be a doctor. Tiffany: She was really good at it. Jamie: (to Debra) Will he be okay? (Suddenly Bryant wakes up and notices everyone and feels mortified with embarassment.) Bryant: What happened? Debra: (to Bryant) How many fingers am I holding up? (Debra holds out four fingers and Bryant squints to see them.) Bryant: Four. Four fingers. Debra: You're sight is good and you seem fine enough. Do you feel anything hurting yet? Bryant: My head hurts. (Jamie and Dravis help Bryant up and he looks into Debra's eyes) Bryant: I am so sorry about all of this. I had no idea what happened. I might have hit an ice patch but before I knew it all I remember was just hitting my head off the steering wheel and crashing. Tiffany: I'm just glad that you and everyone else is okay. Dravis: So am I. Bryant: I really hope that a lovely woman such as yourself could forgive me. Debra: I think that you're just trying to charm your way out of not being sued. Bryant: If there's anything that I can do to make it up to you then please say it. Debra: I'll- I will think of something. (Tiffany and Dravis leave together as Jamie drives her own car, with him in the passenger seat, across the street.) Jamie: Looks like you have a girl friend. ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 6: (A very snazzy bar called Loreno's Lounge) (Vanessa is outside of the building and she is dressed in a light purple dress with a bow in her hair. Dravis walks over to the doorway and sees her in front of him. He is dressed in a dark black business suit, with a shinny gold chain gleaming around his neck.) Dravis: This isn't a place for little girls you know.
I'm allowed in here because I'm as cute as a button and everybody loves me.
Go run home kid.
I already told you Dad-
I'm not your dad. I don't know you. (Dravis opens the door and walk in. Vanessa sneaks in behind him. Dravis surveys the scene, notices a few ladies looking at him, and he makes his way to a table in the back. It's as if he knows exactly what he is doing. Before he sits down he turns around and sees that Vanessa is still following him.) Dravis: You really don't know how to take a hint.
And neither do you. I will leave you alone but I'm not going to get out of your hair. (Vanessa jumps onto the piano and begins to dote on the piano player. She looks at him like he is a teen idol. Dravis ignores Vanessa and goes back to the table. He sits in the booth seat across from an Italian looking man, dressed in a dark red suit and spikey black hair. The other man is young like Dravis but has a few gray hairs showing.) Dravis: Tony Viscanni. I thought that I would never hear from you ever again. (Tony looks down at his drink.) Tony: Well I guess that I proved you wrong. Ever since we last spoke a lot of bad things went down that shouldn't have.
We both know whose fault that was.
It's good to know that you can take blame for your own actions and wrong choices.
I was talking about you. You tried to screw me out of a deal that could have made us millions!
Tried to but I didn't succeed. That's why I called you. I have a new venture that I wanted you to back up with me. I also would like to forget about the past and move on. (Dravis stands up in an outrage.) Dravis: How stupid do you think I am? I would never go into business with a pathetic liar like you. You're nothing but a low life scum bag.
There you go making bad decisions again.
The only bad decision I made was going into business with you Tony! (Dravis begins to leave until Tony looks up at him. Dravis turns around to face him, glaring.) Tony: I hear that your wife may not survive. It's a shame though, she didn't deserve any of it, and she didn't deserve you either. (Dravis makes his way over to Tony and punches him in the face. The punch knocks Tony to the ground as Dravis jumps on top of him and the two begin to punch each other in the jaw. Vanessa begins to clap and laugh at what happens. Dravis then wakes up to Tiffany who is already awake.) Tiffany: Did it happen again?
What? Tiffany: You were talking in your sleep. All I heard was you mumbling the words 'son of a bitch.' What happened?
I don't know.
This is very strange for a person to have unhealthy dreams like the way you do. I really think that you should maybe see a shrink.
For once I didn't have a bad dream.
Then why were you saying that to yourself?
I was just thinking of how Tim was acting like a son of a bitch to Debra.
Tell me the truth. Did you seriously have another dream? (Dravis looks away from her.) Dravis: I didn't have another dream. (Tiffany situates herself back to sleep as Dravis tries closing his eyes after just lying to his wife.) ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 7: (Tim's hotel room) (After making love to Tim, Shanna dresses herself and watches Tim as he is in a deep sleep. ) Shanna: Now to reel in the bait. (Shanna gives Tim a long kiss on his cheek and it makes him wake up. Just as she wanted.) Tim: Hey.
Hi.
Where are you going?
Back to my place.
Why don't you stay?
I would but-
But what?
I'm sick of sneaking around. It's great when we are together but that's all we do. I want to go out and have the public know that we are a true item.
What do you truly want?
I want you to divorce Debra! ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 8: (Bryant's living room) (Bryant lies down on his couch, with his cell phone next to him on his coffee table. It rings and he knows that it has to be Shanna with either good news or bad. Before he can even reach for it to answer it, Jamie comes by and scoops it up.) Jamie: Hello?
Hello?
Who is calling?
Who is answering?
Look I don't have time for games, who is this?
This is Shanna Schoolor, is Bryant there?
No. He's not feeling good.
Can I leave a message with him?
Sorry he's not taking those either. Bye. (Jamie hangs up on Shanna and turns the cell phone off. She then goes over to her uncle with a wash cloth and an angry look on her face.) Bryant: Who was that?
You tell me.
(Jamie puts the damp wash cloth on Bryant's forehead. He winces as he is stung by it.) Bryant: I thought that I was supposed to be the parent like authority here.
You are but looks like I'm going to have assume that role. What the hell are you doing talking to Shanna Schoolor?
What's wrong with her?
I've heard very bad rumors about that woman. She's evil to the bone and you shouldn't be talking to her.
She is just an acquaintance. Besides she is trying to get me a second job.
What's wrong with your first job?
Nothing. I just want more money.
Promise me that you won't talk to that user ever again!
I- I promise. (Jamie looks at him with a nodding approval. Bryant slowly begins to get up but stops.) Jamie: What's wrong?
I'm- I'm just having some dizzy spells that's all. ___________________________________________________________________ Scene 9: (Debra's living room) (Later on in the day, Debra sits alone in her room and begins to think of the day that her and Timothy got married.) Debra: If I weren't so old and looking the way that I did. (Debra looks down at her wedding ring. Every time she usually looked at her ring, it would sparkle, but it hasn't done that in a long time.) Debra: Maybe Tiffany and everyone else is right. I should fight for him. Not give him up to a tramp like Shanna! (The door bell rings and she quickly dries her eyes before any tears can come out. Timothy comes to the door with Shanna by his side. Shanna is in her trench coat but with clothes on underneath and Timothy wears his blue business suit. What a way to kick her when she felt even more down.)
What are you doing here with her?
It's very nice to see you too Debra. You're looking very-
Shut it!
I was going to ask if you lost weight but that's obviously not true.
I'm not going to take this verbal abuse. Good bye! (Debra slams the door in both their faces but Tim uses his key to get in and Shanna is not with him.) Debra: Why would you bring her?
We need to have a serious talk.
I would love to talk to you alone but not with her!
You and I are just never going to fix anything.
Where did that come from?
Shanna made me see that.
Don't mention that she-devil's name in this household!
There's something that I think you should do, for the both of us. Debra: What is it? (Timothy goes through his jacket and pulls out an envelope and a pen.) Tim: Ever since you caught Shanna and I, I had papers drawn up with my lawyer. All of the details have been gone through and if you want to contact yours, then that's fine too. I would like for you to sign these divorce papers! |

Shanna begin to see that their plan is going better then that expected.
Jamie meets Tiffany and quickly gets jealous.
Dravis does not have a dream for once.
A very ugly public scene comes over Shanna and Debra.
