Pilot Episode

Scene 1:

(Pitch black)

(Nothing but darkness surrounds an area that Dravis has no idea where he is in. Wearing a dark icy blue business shirt and black pants, he feels a cool chill breeze through him. It makes him shiver a bit)

Dravis:

Hello?

(Dravis's voice echoes but no one hears him)

Dravis:

Is anyone out there?

(There is another echo and a small light blasts through and a little girl with dark brown hair in pig tails begins to walk up to Dravis.)

Dravis:

Who are you?

Vanessa:

You know who I am. I'm your darling little angel.

Dravis:

What are you talking about. I don't have a daughter.

Vanessa:

It's me Vanessa. Daddy you are being so silly.

Dravis:

Where am I?

(Vanessa puts out her hand to light up the rest of the setting. It turns out to be a park, with swings, a marry-go-round and a slide. Vanessa runs to the marry-go-round and Dravis follows her. It is still dark and chilly out.)

Vanessa:

Daddy why do you look so sad?

Dravis:

I'm not sad. Little girl look I'm sorry but I dont know who you are.

(Vanessa begins to giggle.)

Vanessa:

You're too funny. I thought that we could have some fun at the park. We have to go back and see mommy sometime.

Dravis:

Tiffany? Is that who you are talking about?

Vanessa:

No daddy, we have to go and see mommy. She's in the hospital.

Dravis:

What happened? What happened to mommy?

Vanessa:

Dravis. Dravis.

(Dravis wakes up to his white dim lit bedroom and his comfortable bed. On top of him, Dravis's very concerned, young, short brown haired, and slim wife named Tiffany, wakes him up.)

Tiffany:

It was only a dream.

Scene 2:

(The kitchen)

(Dravis and Tiffany have breakfast on the small kitchen table)

Tiffany:

It happened again, didn't it?

Dravis:

It's the same dream every time, only it happens in different forms. One time I was driving to this beautiful house or this other time I was in an office with my own secretary. And last night, I was at a park, with a little girl who said she was my daughter.

Tiffany:

I'm beginning to worry about you. You know that dreams do mean something. Maybe you should talk to a psychologist. I bet if a professional treated you then you could maybe be fixed.

Dravis:

Fixed? There's nothing wrong with me. So I have a never ending dream about something that I can't explain. It means nothing and I'm not crazy.

Tiffany:

I'm just trying to look out for you. I want you to know that I care for you so much.

Dravis:

I know you do.

Tiffany:

Well sitting around and eating breakfast isn't going to get my day started. I'm so thankful for it being Saturday.

Dravis:

Being a librarian is pretty hard I guess.

Tiffany:

It's not half as hard as sitting in an office all day.

Dravis:

Being a corporate manager can be demanding. Besides how do you think we would have had this wonderful life that we've been living. You know that the Bravings don't have it as good as we do.

Tiffany:

And why would you say that?

Dravis:

Right before I went to bed, I peeked out the window and saw Tim packing his things and leaving.

Tiffany:

Tim left? I didn't hear anything at all.

Dravis:

I didn't want to wake you because you looked so peaceful when you are sleeping. Maybe us making love was that good.

Tiffany:

Every time is good with you. I'll talk to Debra later and to see if she is okay. I guess that not all couples can be lucky like we are. When we married each other I knew that we both meant it whenever we said "I do."

Dravis:

You're right.

(Tiffany exits.)

Dravis:

If only I could remember my own wedding.

Scene 3:

(The Kensington Plaza, room number 617)

(An older, almost graying man, named Timothy Braving sits on the patio of his new hotel room. He picks up his cell phone and calls Dravis as he looks at the view of the city in front of him.)

Dravis:

Are you all settled in?

Tim:

Oh it's wonderful up here. I get serviced whenever I want and a free complimentary mint on my pillow.

Dravis:

Nothing can beat the comfort of your own home though.

Tim:

You're right about that.

Dravis:

What happened Tim?

Tim:

I don't even know. My secretary and I were having a fling, it was nothing at first and no one knew about it, but then it just became something we would always do. One day we were making love in my office and Debra walked in.

Dravis:

I hope that teaches you to put it back in.

Tim:

She was upset about it and we fought for a while. Then she decided that she wanted me out so I willingly left.

Dravis:

If you truly love Debra then you better end things with your secretary and fight for her.

Tim:

I will try and I'll talk to you later.

Dravis:

Later.

(Dravis and Tim hang up with each other. Tim pulls out a picture of Debra and him from his suade wallet that was in his pocket.)

Tim:

If it were only that easy.

Scene 4

(The Bravings Living room)

(Debra, an attractive long haired brunette, slightly chubby woman, sits down on her lengthy couch with Tiffany)

Tiffany:

Dravis told me about what happened last night. I'm sorry to hear it.

Debra:

So am I. Tiff it's really hard to know that a man you loved for that amount of time can betray you like the way Timothy did to me.

Tiffany:

How did it happen?

Debra:

I caught him with that slutty secretary of his. You know Shanna Schoolor. Well I didn't want to talk to him or see him. We fought and then I just decided that enough was enough and kicked him out.

Tiffany:

I'm sorry to hear that. If you need or want anything Dravis and I are just right across the street.

Debra:

Thank you so much. Just being here is enough for me. I really needed someone to talk to and I didn't get any sleep after what happened last night.

Tiffany:

What do you plan on doing though?

Debra:

I don't know.

(A tear begins to form in Debra's right eye.)

Debra:

Timothy was my life. I would do anything for him. The only thing that I could never imagine was finding him in the arms of some little tramp.

Tiffany:

Everything will be for the best and if you don't want to believe me when I say this but everything will-

Debra:

Everything will be okay. I know that if I talked to anyone that's what they would tell me. I love you like a sister Tiff but I don't believe that everything will be okay.

Scene 5

(Shanna's Bedroom)

(A very attractive, thin, model-like, sandy blond prances around her bedroom in a short silky green robe. She picks up her wireless phone and calls her same aged, light blond haired, partner in crime named Bryant Barrone)

Bryant:

You're one step closer in getting everything that you ever wanted out of life.

Shanna:

Now those are some words that I like to hear. What happened?

Bryant:

Debra kicked Timothy out of the house. I saw it all. I could hear them fighting and then Tim walked out into his car with some luggage and drove off.

(Shanna falls backwards onto her bed with such joy.)

Shanna:

Oh that is wonderful news. I bet that Tim would be serving divorce papers to Debra anytime soon and Debra will keep the house.

Bryant:

And what are you going to do now?

Shanna:

What haven't I done already? It was so great to find Debra walk in on the two of us. Her face was priceless. It was almost as if someone had died right in front of her. And it was all because of me!

Bryant:

I love the way you think but sometimes it can be very scarey.

Shanna:

Then it's better to have me as a friend then an enemy. Anybody in this damn town should know that.

Bryant:

So what do you want me to do?

Shanna:

I was thinking that maybe I could focus on Tim and you can focus a lot on Debra.

Bryant:

I'm sort of happy with being single. Do I have to?

Shanna:

Just because she's older and pudgy, she's rich and I know that attracts you to her! And if you dont do it I swear it, Kensington Way will be all against you and I don't have to be the one to do that nor do I want to do that.

Bryant:

Shanna I would never go against you and there is no need to threaten me. I'm on your side and I always will be.

Shanna:

Good.

(Shanna hangs up with Bryant.)

Shanna:

This whole town will be mine!

Scene 6:

(Dravis's Livingroom)

(There is a knock on Dravis's door and he answers it to find Jamie Wyze, a young light brown haired girl.)

Jamie:

Hi my name is Jamie and I live next door to you. I'm actually living with my uncle Bryan Barrone and I'm just going around meeting the neighbors.

Dravis:

It's nice to meet you Jamie. I hope that you'll find Kensington Way to be a nice town. The high school football team and ice hockey team are doing great this year.

(Jamie gives a confused look to Dravis.)

Jamie:

I'm not in high school. I'm in college. The reason why I moved out here was because I got accepted to KWU.

Dravis:

I didn't go there but I hear that it's a very nice school as well. I'm sorry I thought you were younger.

Jamie:

It's okay. Everyone thinks it. I'm eighteen not sixteen or seventeen. I just look younger then I look. Which is going to be a good thing when I'm forty I'll look twenty-five.

Dravis:

There's a good way to look at it.

Jamie:

How old are you?

Dravis:

I feel embarrassed to tell you.

Jamie:

You don't look that old. I would picture you to be either twenty-four or twenty-three.

Dravis:

Now thats a compliment. No I'm thirty-five.

Jamie:

Oops now I'm the one who's embarrassed. I'm like really bored because my uncle went out somewhere and I didn't want to be coupped up in that house all day.

Dravis:

I bet you'll find some kids your age.

Jamie:

I was going to go across the street but last night I thought I heard people fighting and figured that it wouldn't be a good time.

Dravis:

You're right. Those were the Bravings. They dont have any children, or at least any that I know of, and what you heard was just a classic tale of how not to use your secretary.

Jamie:

Oh I get what you're saying and I bet I will have a good time in this town. It seems somewhat interesting. I'm going to go to the mall and shop. It was nice to meet you.

Dravis:

You too.

(Dravis shuts the door on Jamie and she begins to walk back to her uncle's house with a big smile on herself.)

Jamie:

He's thirty-five. There is only a seventeen year difference. Who cares?

Scene 7:

(Dravis's Front Yard)

(Sometime has passed since his meeting with Jamie. Dravis shuts the front door behind him and begins to walk across the street to Debra's home. Debra and Tiffany come out at the same time and notice Dravis.)

Tiffany:

Hey hun.

Debra:

Hi Dravis.

Dravis:

I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with us Debra?

Debra:

I would love to.

(All of a sudden a black BMW comes racing down the street. The car looks to be out of control and swerves everywhere. Dravis is the first to notice it. Dravis begins to run towards the women.)

Dravis: (shouting)

Tiffany! Debra! Look out!

(The car jumps onto Debra's lawn and crashes)
