Episode 13: Aftermath Ending (Season Finale)

Previously on Kensington Way:

- Dravis questions Jamie on what the picture is. She tells him that it was
of her when she was little. Dravis explains who Vanessa is to her. Jamie
also tells him that her middle name is Vanessa. Jamie Van Wyze. Tiffany comes
busiting in the door with a sledge hammer. She explains to the both of them
that they are father & daughter (just like Vanessa always told Dravis.) Tiffany
also shows him a huge secret, that they were filming a scripted reality show
and that Bryant was shot. Jamie collapses.

- Carmen watches from her studio booth at the drama that was unfolding. She
stops them by gassing Jamie's room because she has plans of her own.

- Terry and Ryley drive off to a desserted gas station in the desert that's
located further out in Kensington Way, Nevada. Terry tells Ryley that he
plans on telling Jamie that he didn't even touch her and that he'll have to escape
again. Ryley says good bye to him. Terry says that out of everything, he's
trusted him the most. When Terry drives off, Ryley sets off a bomb, and
Terry's car explodes.

- Timothy got a surprise of his own when he was kicked out of his own house
by Debra who wanted to be alone with her real lover Shanna. The two women
taunt him. He exits, saying that Dravis is going to need all the help that he
can get, after most of the actors/actresses know that Dravis knows all.

- Dravis wakes up to find himself in Carmen's recording studio, tied up.
Carmen explains everything to him. How they had a previous life, a young love
that was ruined by Dravis's mob life. How Jamie was given up at such age. He
even found out that Carmen smashed a vase in his head, which caused him to
have amenesia and she spent years getting back at him and his mob friends (even
killing Tony Viscanni) for what they did to her and how they killed her second
baby that Dravis had become distant to care for. She got her revenge by doing
a scripted reality show. He watches everything that has happened. When it's
done, she explains to him that life could be taken away from him, just like
hers was. She then pulls out a gun and aims it at him. Dravis tells her to
shoot him because he would die with dignity knowing that he was the better
person. He closes his eyes and hears the gun being shot.

Scene 1:

(Sound Studio Basement)

(Dravis heard the gunshot go off but felt nothing. He opens his eyes to find Carmen gone. There was no bullet, no bloodshed, there was so sign of Carmen. Until he notices the floor in front of him was open. That was how she made her escape. She shot her way through the floor to open up a passageway for an exit.)

Dravis:

(Screaming)

SOMEBODY HELP ME! TIFFANY? JAMIE?

(His screams for help weren’t doing him any good. No one was around. Dravis tries escaping by grasping his hands together but they were tied so tightly. His wrists were becoming numb because of the splintered, tethered rope. Someone had to be there he thought and prayed to himself. Then he heard the footsteps that were coming from upstairs. They drew closer to him.)

Dravis:

Hello?

Timothy:

It looks like you need a hand.

(Timothy quickly unties Dravis. He was free. His wrists were gaining blood circulation again. Timothy smiled because he knew he did right, but Dravis wasn’t happy to see him.)

Timothy:

Don’t I even get a thank you?

Dravis:

You lied to me Tim. Even if that’s your real name. You were supposed to be my best friend. And this whole time, you were lying to me!

Timothy:

I am your best friend.

Dravis:

No you’re not. You’re just some actor. Was it really worth fake bed hopping with Shanna just to keep me distracted so that Carmen could ruin my life?

Timothy:

I’m sorry about what everyone has done to you. And it wasn’t worth a second. Had I known what I knew back then, I would have ruined everything. But you don’t understand how dangerous Carmen really is. Unless you found out sooner, we weren’t going to defy her!

Dravis:

Why not? Were you all scared of her? Does she have something on you that you had to follow her or else?

Timothy:

We all were paid high salaries. Most of us were greedy and I was in it for the sex romps and because I was really in love with Debra. It wasn’t worth a damn line that we read, because even Debra is a liar! My wife’s a lesbian. And her lover is Shanna.

Dravis:

You were in this for love? My life was rotting away, and you were wanting to get closer to another actress? This is so surreal.

Timothy:

Now is not the time to hold grudges and to be angry with me. I just saved your life and there are others out there who are fighting for you.

Dravis:

I’m not scared of her Tim!

Timothy:

You ready to fight back? We need to leave this basement as soon as possible. She has Tiffany and Jamie!

Dravis:

Let’s save them. That bitch is going down!

Timothy:

We have to go and save Tiffany and Jamie. I found out that she has them in her grasp.

Scene 2:

(Train tracks)

(In broad daylight, Tiffany was sitting in a wooden chair that was sitting in the middle of an old steel train track. She could hear the birds above her cawing away. Crows symbolized death, and they were circling the skies above her.)

(A black limo pulls up to the tracks and stops. Carmen gets out. She walks over to Tiffany who is also tied up and gagged.)

Carmen:

Do you remember the old movies where the damsel in distress was tied up to the train tracks? This is just like those scenes, only you won’t be saved. I kind of always wanted to see what a penny looked like when it was run over by a train. Now I’m going to find out.

(Carmen’s cell phone rings. She answers it.)

Carmen:

It’s time. Let the trains come!

(Tiffany could hear the train whistle sound off. The tugging of the wheels against the track. The noises were getting closer and closer. Louder and louder. She was scared out of her mind. It was only pretend and acting when she had to be scared in front of Bryant, but they were real emotions. She prayed to herself that someone would save her.)

Carmen:

Good bye Tiffany.

(Carmen gets back into her limo to witness the event. Suddenly, Timothy’s Green Subaru comes roaring down the dirt road path and to the tracks. Dravis and Timothy get out of the car and frantically run up to Tiffany. The train was nearing, and time was ending.)

Timothy:

I told you this is where she would be! Carmen thought I was with her, so when she gave us new plans, she said that she was going to do this to Tiffany.

(The limo speeds off.)

Dravis:

That must’ve been Carmen! Damn it! I can’t get her untied fast enough!

(The train wasn’t stopping. It was at least twenty feet away from them. Dravis dove on top of Tiffany to knock the chair off of the train tracks and onto the sandy land next to them. He holds her in his arms as the train passes and throws gusts of windy sand in their faces. Timothy was thrown back on to the ground. He smiles when the train passes to see them together.)

Timothy:

(screaming to Dravis)

You really are a hero!

(Dravis takes the gag off of Tiffany who was happy to see him.)

Tiffany:

You...you saved my life. After everything that I’ve done to you, you could’ve let me die but you saved me!

Dravis:

Yeah. I forgive you Tiff.

(Dravis helps Tiffany to her feet. She looks deep into his eyes. He was smiling to show how happy he was that she was alive. Tiffany tenderly kisses him. Timothy comes up from behind them and taps them both on the shoulder.)

Timothy:

Hate to burst your little love bubble, but we need to go and save Jamie. According to Carmen’s agenda, she’s trying to take her to the airport and ship her off to somewhere where we can’t find her!

- - -

Scene 3:

(Helicopter Interior)

(As they fly in the air together, Debra pilots a helicopter that was given to her as a gift by Carmen, and Shanna was enjoying being her passenger. Both women have headphones covering their ears. Shanna looks over at Debra.)

Shanna:

You look so cute when you’re piloting. I love it when you’re in control.

Debra:

Thanks hun.

(Carmen’s voice comes over the headphones.)

Carmen:

(V.O.)

Shanna! Debra! Come in.

Shanna:

What’s up Carmen?

Carmen:

(V.O.)

Dravis got away thanks to the help of Timothy. Tim told me that he was on my side but obviously that son of a bitch lied to me! Now I want you to kill Tiffany and annihilate Timothy. But don’t kill Dravis!

Debra:

We’re on it.

(Debra flies the helicopter forward. Shanna scopes out the ground below them with a high tech magnifying glass. She watches as Tiffany, Dravis, and Timothy get into Timothy’s car.)

Timothy:

Looks like we have company.

(to Tiffany)

You take Dravis to the airport and if you see Carmen or Ryley’s car the best bet is that she’s with them. I’ll take care of them. Somehow the police or someone will find me.

(Debra gets on the intercom to talk to them. Carmen always wanted to pay the big bucks, and her helicopter had the works.)

Debra:

Give it up Tim! It’s all over from here.

(Timothy runs to his trunk to pull out an M - 16. Tiffany drives off with Dravis. She knew more about the town than he.)

(Timothy runs across the field and holds his hand in the air. He flicks them off.)

Timothy:

(screaming)

Come and get me bitches!

(Timothy runs like hell across the desert field. Debra was getting closer to him and then came the gun shots. The ground was being shot up as his ex love interest, was trying to shoot him down.)

(He finds a mountain crevice to hide behind. He could still hear the helicopter rumbling in the air. And then the copter was louder than ever. He turned around behind him to find the helicopter standing right in front of him.)

Timothy:

Oh shit!

(The women were smiling back at him. Timothy whips the M - 16 gun out and aims it at the copter. Shanna and Debra are in shock. Before Debra could shoot her gun out of the helicopter, Timothy was gunning them down. The bullets were breaking the windshield of the copter but they didn’t hit the pilot or her passenger/lover.)

(Timothy looks around, knowing that he’s blinded them, he begins to run again.)

Shanna:

Follow him!

Debra:

I can’t see.

Shanna:

I can.

(Out of the corner of her eye and the shattered glass, Shanna watched Timothy run.)

Shanna:

Floor it and keep going straight. And keep shooting!

Debra:

Now this is a change of pace. You being the dominant one!

(Debra floors it forward and continues shooting but misses Timothy. Timothy then turns around and runs the opposite way.)

Shanna & Debra:

Oh fu-

(Timothy dives in the air as Debra and Shanna’s helicopter crash and burn into a large rocky mountain that they couldn’t see.)

Timothy:

Score one for the good guys. Now I just need to find a way back!

(Timothy pulls out his cell phone in his pocket. He knew that there were no police around, he only said to reassure Dravis. Instead, he called the one person that no one would expect.)

Scene 4:

(Ryley’s Car)

(Ryley begins to drive along the deserted dirt road in his car, only he wasn’t alone. Jamie was sitting in the passenger seat with him.)

Jamie:

Thank you for saving me.

Ryley:

I work for the Police Department, it’s my job.

Jamie:

There’s so much going on lately I need a scorecard just to keep track. What happened to Carmen?

Ryley:

She was arrested. I’m taking you to Dravis right now.

Jamie:

I just found out that he was my father. It’s very shocking and -

Ryley:

Say no more. Soon enough you’ll be reunited and all of this will be over.

Jamie:

What about Bryant?

Ryley:

I’m sorry. He was confirmed dead.

(Jamie smiles knowing that she was safe with Ryley. She then begins to think back to when Dravis told all the he knew.)

Dravis:

Everyone was in on something. Debra, Tiffany, Ryley, and even Shanna!

(Quickly Jamie was beginning to think that maybe she made a mistake getting in the vehicle with Ryley.)

Ryley:

What’s wrong?

Jamie:

Nothing.

(Ryley’s cell phone rings. Jamie notices the light on the belt. The ID read ‘Carmen calling.’ That was all the proof that she needed, but now she had to figure out a way to escape.)

- - -

Scene 5:

(Timothy’s Car)

(Tiffany drives along the same deserted dirt road and sees Ryley’s car.)

Dravis:

How close is Ryley to Carmen?

Tiffany:

He’s her right hand man in this all.

Dravis:

Then he would know where Jamie is!

(Behind them was Carmen’s limo who were hot on their trail. Only this time Timothy was in the car with her.)

Timothy:

Thank you so much for rescuing me. I hope that you realize that I’ve lead you directly to Dravis. You could thank me later.

Carmen:

This whole stranded act really did work wonders for you.

(Carmen pulls out a gun and aims it at him)

Carmen:

Tell me one reason why I shouldn’t shoot you.

Timothy:

Because you don’t have the guts! You know I wouldn’t betray my main man.

(Timothy jumps on Carmen as the two struggle for the gun, and the driver continues to drive.)

(Back in Ryley’s car, Jamie punches Ryley in the face and the car begins to swerve. He stops the car.)

(Tiffany stops her car as well.)

(The limo steps on the breaks and crashes into Timothy’s car who in turn crashes into Ryley’s car. Jamie quickly gets out and begins to run, but Ryley catches her.)

Ryley:

You’re not going anywhere!

(Dravis gets out of Timothy’s car but before he can run to grab Jamie, Carmen grabs him instead and pulls him into the limo. Timothy begins to crawl towards his own car as Tiffany tries undoing her seat belt but couldn’t. Timothy helps her undo it. The two run over to save Jamie but don’t realize that Dravis has been taken.)

(Ryley pulls Jamie in a head lock. He then looks behind him to see a canyon cliff before him. He begins to dangle her over it. Jamie screams in terror.)

Timothy:

Let the girl go.

Ryley:

I’ll kill her.

(Ryley let’s go of Jamie, she begins to slip and fall down, until Tiffany catches her in the nick of time. Timothy and Ryley square off with one another. Timothy punches him the face, Ryley punches him in the stomach. The two get closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.)

(Both men breathe heavily as they take a short break from fighting. Ryley was closest to the cliff. He tries throwing Timothy off as the two struggle. Tiffany comes up from behind and pushes Ryley with all her might. He loses his balance and falls off of the cliff to his death.)

Scene 6:

(Darkness)

(Dravis was in his dream world again. Except this time, the dreams were actually making sense to him. He was watching himself with Carmen. How he didn’t love her. He then finds himself looking at his own reflection in his bathroom mirror.)

Dravis:

I...I can’t do this. I don’t love her anymore. I need to escape.

(He then wakes up in a comfortable, large, bed in a familiar looking bedroom. Carmen then walks in.)

Carmen:

Did you have a nice nap?

Dravis:

I remembered everything. It came back to me. You must have drugged me. Is that all you do to people? Drug them to the point where they can’t remember anything? You sicken me.

Carmen:

Drugging is my speciality. If your past came back to you, then this scene should look familiar.

Dravis:

What is it?

Carmen:

It’s our house in Chicago. Not the real thing, but a duplicate. I was actually thinking of having you come here and hope that your past would come rushing back to you. I’m sure the viewers would have loved to see that.

Dravis:

I thought I told you that my life isn’t a reality show. At least not anymore.

Carmen:

You really have taken things into your own hands. And the people, they really are backing you up. Such a pity that soon enough, just like you, they’ll die too.

Dravis:

Why didn’t you shoot me when you had the chance?

Carmen:

That would have been way too easy. I wanted to see you suffer more.

Dravis:

Haven’t I suffered enough?

(Carmen pulls out her gun and aims it in his face.)

Carmen:

No you haven’t! And when you die...I hope you rot in hell for leaving me behind. For doing everything that you’ve done to me.

Dravis:

Then shoot me!

(Dravis elbows Carmen in the face and knocks the gun out of her hands. He goes to reach for it but she jumps on top of him and begins to pull his hair. She lifts him up and slams his head off of the dresser drawer that was next to the bed. Dravis turns around and kicks her off of him. She goes flying backwards off of the bed. This gives Dravis enough time to grab her gun. He aims it at her as she realizes that she’s outnumbered.)

Carmen:

I’ve done everything that I’ve can to try to stop you. I even brought you here to kill you. But it seems as if...you keep coming back. Stronger then ever.

Dravis:

Good always wins over evil.

Carmen:

Then you better pull that trigger because I’m going to kill you!

(His hand was shaking. She knew he was scared to do so. Carmen puts her arms behind her waist and in her back pocket produces a tall silver knife and throws it at him. At the same time, Dravis pulls the trigger.)

Carmen:

I will always love you!

(The bullet hits Carmen in the chest. The knife hits Dravis in the stomach. Dravis falls to the ground but Carmen falls backwards out of the two story window.)

(Dravis begins to fade to unconsciousness.)

Scene 7:

(Playground)

(Dravis’s dark slumber, turned into the blue light that he first saw when he was dreaming. The blue light shines dim. Vanessa walks in front of him with a smile on her face.)

Dravis:

What are you doing here Jamie? I mean...Vanessa. Am I dead?

Vanessa:

No. Not at all.

Dravis:

Why am I still having these dreams?

Vanessa:

It’s all over now.

(Vanessa puts out her hand and waves it against the dark sky. The sky goes from black to blue and the sun begins to shine before him. The sun begins to get larger to him. He shades his eyes as all he can see is brightening white.)

Scene 8:

(Kensington Way Hospital)

The deafening light was the light on his hospital room ceiling. Dravis opens his eyes to find Tiffany in front of him. Dravis sits up with a pillow behind his back that Tiffany helped him place.

"I’m glad to see you’ve come too." Tiffany says with a smile.

"Yeah. Me too." Dravis groggily responds.

Jamie comes rushing in through the door. She had a smile on her face that was wider than a two by four. She was holding manuscripts and books in her grasp. It was the reason why she was smiling so much.

"Hello dad." Jamie greets him. "You’ve been through so much lately."

Jamie puts down her belongings on the drawer next to Dravis. She was free to hug him, not as the crush that she once had, but as the father she was going to get to know.

"So...what now Dravis?"

"I was wishing for some sort of happy ending. But being alive and having you all here. That’s the only ending I can imagine." Dravis responds.

"And in speaking of endings," Jamie remembers. "I thought you might want to see the scripts. After all, you’ve been working so hard on them and now they’re finally printed!" Jamie hands him the thick stacks of white paper.

Dravis looks at the title page. It reads "Kensington Way by Dravis Heidel."

"If I wrote this? And not Carmen. If these were my words and my plots. My power. Then does that mean...that Kensington Way was even real to begin with?" Dravis asks himself.
